About the Journal

Purpose

A Few More Questions is an online journal of exceptional creative and scholarly research by students in the Division of the Arts at Spelman College. A Few More Questions publish work that pushes the boundaries of creativity, technology and innovation in all forms of media, performing arts, and their related practices.

The title A Few More Questions came about during a brainstorming session in a curatorial studies seminar class in which many suggestions were proposed. This led to a lengthy discussion about naming and its cultural impact, including the perceived limitations of changing perspectives with a word or two. As the issues were discussed, two conceptual tendencies emerged—one towards hopeful striving and the other towards a cynicism of our place in time. To overcome this divergence it was suggested that the bridge to understanding and the path towards a more advanced future was not to propose the answers but to remain in constant speculation and creative inquiry. It was suggested that the solution might be found by requiring a few more questions.
